My Masterpiece

My father died at the end of 1998 and I took the job of contacting employers, credit card companies, and the like, to tell them of his death and get addresses to which to send death certificates. Since then I have been playing with the idea of putting together some type of guide to help others through this arduous and painful process. My original idea was for a hard cover book, but I know the pitfalls of trying to publish a physical book.

For the last few years, I have been touting the benefits and joys of first Web 2.0 and, now, Social Media. Well, I have put my money where my mouth is by using one of the online publishers--LuLu.com--to publish an e-book:

My book, Worksheets and Checklists - After the Death of a Loved One, is what I call a non-linear book. It contains several introductory pages--title, copyright, dedication, disclaimer, how to use this book, and description--followed by 35 or so worksheets and checklists that one can use when a loved one dies. There are a number of things that need to be done when a person dies--arrange for a funeral, call a lawyer, call the executor--and this book helps you keep track of what has and hasn't been done. The non-linear aspect is that since it is an e-book, you can pull and print any checklist or worksheet you want in whatever order or quantity you desire. It is fully bookmarked and the the description section is fully linked.

I hope you can take a moment to look it over and perhaps recommend it to someone who my find it useful.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
