As they describe themselves on their "About" page:
"del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website -- the primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too."
I have found myself using del.icio.us a lot lately as I have been collecting a lot of information about my "hobbies"--literacy, filmmaking, publishing, etc. Until recently, I have not made use of the "Comments" section of the bookmarks, but now I am and I find myself using them as I would the comments on blogs. Now, I realize that the only people who would see these comments are people who happen to find my bookmarks or people who use the RSS feeds (c.f. filmmaking) for the tags I assign to those book marks, but I find it interesting that del.icio.us could become more then just a repository of bookmarks. It could become a tool for social discourse as more people use the "Comment" functionality.
