Many famous photographs have been controversial, but today, tools such as Photoshop have made doctoring them seemingly as easy as pie. Now we have Iraq looking worse then it is, Katie looking thinner, and now Rosie is on the same diet. Has "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words" become "A Picture Tells a Thousand Lies?" Is there a fix for this or are we doomed to condeming every picture we see as a probable lie?

We can no longer blindly assume that what is shown is real or what is written, true. Fact checking is now the new paradigm.
